With lots of little red herrings thrown in I was never quite sure where the story was going or what happened to Tallulah and Zach. This is a twisty, suspenseful book which kept me guessing throughout. Just over a year later, a crime author moves into the village with her boyfriend and finds something in her garden which is a vital clue about the disappearance of the young couple, re-opening the case and giving Kim hope that her daughter may still be alive. The story has a dual timeline which takes the readers back to the night of their disappearance and the months leading up to it and then a few years later when Tallulah’s mother, Kim is still grieving for the loss of her daughter and trying to bring up her grandson alone. The Night She Disappeared is about a 19 year old daughter and new mother, Tallulah who goes out for a meal with her boyfriend and both of them disappear never to be seen or heard of again. I particularly love a story that takes the reader back and forth via several characters points of view, slowly revealing secrets and changing direction after each and every chapter. I’m a HUGE fan of Lisa Jewell’s books (she’s not too shabby as a person either) and I was delighted to see she has a new book out which I immediately downloaded without even looking at the blurb!
